Health Care Center at Jagruti Community Centers

Beneficiaries in a year: about 10,000 No.s

This is managed by well qualified and experienced doctors. The clinic works daily and medicines and injections are given at very nominal charges. The doctors are assisted by our social worker and a trained helper.

Patients requiring further investigations or surgical interventions are directed to other hospitals where personalized help and attention is given.




Family Planning

This is one of major focus areas of Jagruti activities. Awareness programs about the need, methods and advantages of family planning are continuously conducted for men, women, young girls and boys. Many women with one child or two daughters are coming forward for family planning operations from all communities. These are arranged at nearby good hospitals.




Other Health Care Programs

Pathological Laboratory and Diabetic Clinic is established with the help of Diabetic Association of India, Pune. We have about nine hundred patients registered with us who are provided medicines and insulin and other health care facilities. As a result their diabetes is under control and they are leading active life.

Eye checkup camps and General Health check-up camps are conducted regularly. Cataract and other surgical procedures are conducted at well known hospitals.

Immunization of Hepatitis B, Typhoid, Cholera, Polio & Rubella is regularly done at main community center and nearby rural areas.

Jagruti conducts regularly programs by way of lectures, slide presentations, display of posters, discussions on hygiene, cleanliness of environment, alcoholism, addictions to gutka, tobacco, drugs.




Mobile Clinic

Beneficiaries in a year: about 12,000 No.s

A van with necessary medicines and equipments goes around in about twenty five villages in remote areas. It is accompanied by qualified doctor and helpers. The days and timings are pre-announced so that needy can take help. The van is also used to transport emergency cases to various hospitals.




Rainbow of Friendship (Maitriche Indradhanushya)

Beneficiaries in a year: about 702 No.s

This program recently launched is receiving good response from schools, parents and students. Our volunteers,specially trained for the purpose,conduct this at many schools and colleges. The program sensitizes adolescents about different aspects of friendship and responsibilities coming along with it. Sex education is an important part of this program.




Snehalaya( Home away from home ) facility

Beneficiaries in a year: about 40 No.s

We take full care of needy and deserving girls from rural poor families, unable to pursue higher education in spite of having the necessary merit and desire. We provide medication, educational help, a place within reach of many prestigious educational institutes. Admissions are given on the basis of need and merit for pursuing higher education and vocational courses.

Most of the parents are marginal farmers or farm labourers. Some of the girls are given honorarium for teaching in our support education classes under our ‘Earn & Learn’ program. Visually challenged girls are also using the facility of the Snehalaya. They are very happy with the facilities and call it ‘Home away from Home’.
